Rhapsody of carst and stones

The wild and untouched nature of harsh karst intersected by rivers and lakes, rich history and traditional architecture will reveal to you a new dimension of vacation perfect for active, cultural and eno-gastro tourism in the Dalmatian Zagora.

Feel the indigenous hospitality in a unique natural environment that witnesses both tradition and heritage, but also offers the almost forgotten aromas and flavours of local food, grown and cultivated just a few hundred metres away in the fields, in the vineyards and in the gardens of our hosts.

Life in stones

The hamlet of Veliki Godinj on the north-western slopes of the Biokovo Nature Park is an example of preserved folk architecture. Today it is not inhabited, but  is being restored as an ethno-eco village, respecting the existing architecture and natural materials. It is still dominated by preserved single-storey family houses, built of stone with authentic balustrades, paved courtyards and water tanks. The shade of the former courtyards, stone tables and resting areas even today is created by vines and century-old trees, so it is easy to go back to the period of two centuries ago when people lived in these villages.

The tours are followed by lunch in an ambient tavern – a country gourment story.

Upon arrival at Dalmatian Hinterland, you can start your trip with a visit to the Vrljika river and fill all your senses right at the beginning by floating and enjoying kayaking down the river in beautiful nature.
